A promising wearable device with memory problems

PC world

To sum it all up - I was impressed. Both with the high quality of most of the products and the thought that led to this notebook being handicapped with so little storage. In fact having to knock down the score was extremely annoying when a 64GB version would have received better marks. Despite the tempting price, I can't recommend this version of the 100S-11 as products with annoying limitations or forced bypasses end up in the trash (or wall) prematurely. PC Mag

The Lenovo IdeaPad 100S-11IBY is a decent ultraportable device with great battery life and a light but sturdy build. However, its performance leaves something to be desired as it cannot handle more demanding multimedia tasks and is generally slower than alternative systems. It would be more attractive if if it were priced lower than other budget ultraportables given its 32-bit OS, as the faster 64-bit HP Stream 13 and 15-inch Dell Inspiron Non-Touch (3531) are less expensive by $70 and $70, respectively .$50.Individual review, available online, very brief, dated 2016-01-28

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail)

:

Integrated GPU for tablet and notebook Bay Trail SoCs. Based on the Ivy Bridge GPU with four execution units and DirectX 11 support.

Only some 3D games with very low requirements are playable with these cards.

Intel Atom

: The Intel Atom series is a 64-bit (not every model supports 64bit) microprocessor for cheap and small notebooks (so-called netbooks), MIDs or UMPCs. The special feature of the new architecture is the "in order" version (instead of the usual and faster "out-of-order" execution). Therefore, the number of transistors in the Atom series is much lower and therefore cheaper to manufacture. In addition, the power consumption is very low. The performance per megahertz is therefore worse than the old Pentium 3M (1 .2 GHz on par with a 1.6 GHz Atom).

Z3735F

: SoC with an integrated quad-core Atom processor clocked at up to 1.83 GHz, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a single-channel DDR3L RS-1333 memory controller.»For more information, see our

Comparison of mobile processors

11.60"

:

This screen diagonal is quite large for tablets, but small for subnotebooks. Some convertibles are also represented in this size.

Larger display sizes enable higher resolutions. Details such as letters are therefore larger. On the other hand, small screen diagonals consume less power and the devices are smaller, lighter and cheaper.

:

Larger tablets and convertibles in particular weigh just as much.

Lenovo

: Lenovo (“Le” as in the English word legend and “novo” (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company is the largest laptop manufacturer in China and after acquiring the PC division of IBM in 2005 to the fourth largest manufacturer worldwide. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company also produces monitors, projectors, servers, etc.

In 2011, Lenovo acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility, which gave them a boost in the smartphone market.

From 2014 to 2016, Lenovo's share of the global notebook market was 20-21%, ranking second only to HP. However, the gap gradually narrowed. In the smartphone market, Lenovo was not among the top 5 global manufacturers in 2016 .

65.25%

: This rating is bad. Most notebooks are rated better. This is not a purchase recommendation.
