Notebook check

Slow start.

With the 255 G6, HP offers a very affordable entry-level notebook. With an AMD processor and replaceable battery, our test device could be given a buy recommendation. However, the moderate system performance and inexpensive manufacturing leave a lot to be desired.

model

: The HP 255 G6 is an affordable notebook that promises respectable performance. It comes with 7th Gen AMD APUs, a large display and other standard features. HP says they designed this device for those who like to work on the go The company describes the design as durable and mobile. At around 24 millimeters thick, the HP 255 G6 is not quite as slim. But the weight is decent, starting at 1.86 kg Impression. The top of the base can withstand strong pressure, while the underside can be dented slightly. The display is held firmly by the hinges and does not warp when it is opened or closed at just one corner. The HP 255 G6 offers a pleasant Keyboard. Although the keys are a bit small, long typing wasn't a problem. A user will like the crisp but not too firm pressure point n. However, the HP notebook is less suitable for quiet environments. Friends of a pleasant typing noise will get their money's worth with the keyboard, but the sound is always present and can be annoying in noise-sensitive environments.

When it comes to the display, the HP 255 G6 is equipped with a TN LED display that displays content with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Although the maximum brightness is just over 200 cd/m2, this display is one of the better models. The TN -LED display is only characterized by a mediocre viewing angle stability. However, color changes only occur at sharp angles from above and below.Viewed from the left and right, the screen content remains relatively unchanged.Inside, the HP 255 G6 has Accelerated Processing Units (AMD ) of the seventh generation. The processors of the A6 and E2 families are supported by up to 8 GB DDR4 RAM. The integrated AMD Radeon R4 takes care of the graphics. It is suitable for simple graphic applications and can also run older games with medium Display settings. According to HP, the user should expect the notebook to last almost a whole day (around seven and a half hours) at work. That promises t decent performance, if nothing out of the world. A 1 TB 5200 rpm SATA hard drive serves as storage. At 5,200 rpm, this is significantly slower than comparable devices with SSD. Occasional waiting times due to loading programs have to be accepted, but not unbearable. The range's connection options include two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one HDMI 1.4b port and one VGA port. A multi-format memory card reader is also on board. The touchpad has multi-enabled -Touch gestures. A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 adds an extra layer of security. For online collaboration, users get a VGA or HD camera along with a pair of built-in stereo speakers.
